InkDiva,
Simply Sil Bio
Silvia Lewis (Simply Sil) hails from Italy, and
currently resides in Nashville Tennessee. Simply
Sil is known worldwide for her amazing ability
to be a lyrical vessel, connecting soulfully with
women on all levels of intelligence and of the
most diverse ethnic backgrounds. She achieves this
through her healing poetic testaments and conscious
poetic lessons. Where Simply Sil is versatile enough
to sway you romantically or touch you spiritually,
her forte is to shoot straight from the hip with
solid real current events in an effort to elevate
supporters and fans to their highest mode of self-improvement
and self-awareness.
InkDiva
In her travels as a motivational speaker and spoken
word artist, Simply Sil has performed in several
places; including but not limited to: New Yorks
Nuroyican Cafe, Atlantas 7 stages Theatre, The
Loft, The Roof, The Jaya Monkey Cafe', Tennessee
State University, The Frothy Monkey, Vanderbilt
University, MTSU, African Street Festival, Homeless
Power Project, MLK Day, Nashville Peace and Justice
Center, The Bellcourt Theatre and many Coffee Shops
throughout the USA and Europe! She has appeared
on local Cable TV as well as other public events.
She has performed in schools, correctional facilities
and even STREET CORNERS!
Her calendar currently includes hosting Lyrical Lava at Scojos on 2nd Ave North
Every Thursday evening and her monthly event she hosts at the Famous Kijijis
Coffee House on Jefferson Street, in Nashville Tennessee.
As
Founder of Ink Diva Productions, she takes on the
diligent role of Director and Producer for her
annual "Women Of Words" fundraiser, in
which funds have been donated for 3 years to the
YWCA Women Shelter. In addition to being nominated
for the Southern Entertainment Awards, Simply Sil
is a writer for a bi-monthly online magazine, NJIA,

njiamagazinepage3.htm and she co-hosts a weekly online radio show entitled "Every
Woman", focusing on the struggles, victories,
strengths and the survival tactics of artists and
how their art form has helped them throughout their
journeys.
Simply Sil has been selected to debut on IndieFeed with her single *and still
unreleased* spoken word piece "Her Name Was STORM", the heart breaking,
yet, truth revealing story of a 3yrs old Katrina Survivor.
In addition, Simply Sil's CD was chosen to be on rotation on www.vocalizedink.org starting
May 2006. Tune in to check out her interview and listen to some of her
pieces.
Simply Sil's work has been featured in many publications, including and not limited
to "The Nashville RAGE", "The Scene", "The Tennessean" as
well as online magazines and e-anthology publications. She is also the recepient
of several Poetry awards and the winner of Slams and Spoken Word/Poetry competitions.
Simply Sil has had the great opportunity to share the stage with many great artists
and has opened for several DEF Poetry Jams artists, including Triple Black, Black
Ice, Red Storm, Georgia ME, Cocktails, Abyss and J-Ivy. Yet, "fame and notoriety" never
changed this city girl and her message...there is NOTHING SIMPLE about her INK,
she is indeed Made in Italy!. .
